CULTURAL REWILDING's founder Alberto Frigo Cana (1979) was born in the Italian alps. While studying at Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in Vancouver, Frigo began to film his life 24/7. Using 18mm cameras he documented his whereabouts among the homeless community before departing for a road trip across the Americas with a self-tailored poncho serving him as both an hammock and a set of pockets to carry his diaries. Back in Europe Frigo began to document his life using digital equipment. Meantime he got a Master and a PhD in Critical and Cultural Theory in Sweden to then move to China where he taught at Tongji University and then to the United States where he was a project leader at MIT Design Lab. He was awarded at Ars Electronica and has been exhibited at the Hasselblad foundation and other museums until he decided to focus on more ecological projects promoting a more indigenous way of life.
